First Ever Crayon Shinchan Run at the Lion City!

My first race was with Crayon ShinChan race! Let`s find out whether is it worth it to join!

Just me posing proudly at the finisher point of the Crayon ShinChan Run, wearing the blue race shirt.

Are you a fellow ShinChan lover who always watches the show on YouTube while eating? Then you're in the right place! I’m the type of person who swears I would NEVER pay to run, but I lost it when I came across the following ad:

Look at how cute it is! So, I decided to join the 4km run, though I missed the early bird price and ended up paying SGD $78 (very expensive, I know…).

We collected the race pack at Clarke Quay (The Central), which included a blue shirt for the 4km race category, ShinChan tattoo, a race bib, and a cute hat! And also, a blind box (actually in a bag), where you would receive a random ShinChan keychain.

The fun race took place at Sentosa`s Palawan Green, and luckily we arrived just in time for the race for the last wave for the 4km category.

We expected it to be crowded, but not this crowded, and this was the last wave for the 4km category! To be honest, we found it difficult to run the 4km as there were no clearly defined lanes for walkers and runners. The majority of people who paid for the 4km race ended up walking (not sure why 😕).

The running path was quite narrow as well, making it even harder to get around the walkers. I had to run into the opposing lane several times just to overtake them. The weather was really hot, but luckily, there were no grey clouds in sight!

From what I remember, there was only one refreshment station for the entire 4km race, but I think it was sufficient since 4km isn’t really a long run 😂. After dodging people, we finally completed the run in under 30 minutes! We collected our refreshments (an oat biscuit and a medal). The medal is quite heavy, and the quality is really impressive.

Afterwards, we participated in some post-race games. We tried tic-tac-toe and snakes and ladders but left quickly once the weather became too hot.

Overall, the race was quite cute and fun, though the host's poor ShinChan voice imitation was a bit of a letdown. They definitely need to enforce more distinctive lanes for walkers and runners in the 4km category for future races.
